Wow 15 years making high quality accessories for bikes! It is hard to believe that much time has passed. Lizard Skins was started as a hobby as many enthusiast businesses are. We started with the neoprene chainstay protector, headset seal and fork boots. These 3 items are still in our offering some 15 years latter. They have been redesigned many times along the way to accommodate longer travel forks, larger diameter aluminum chainstays, and new types of neoprene becoming available.

As new product ideas flowed in we expanded our line to include additional materials. Our first non neoprene item was the single compound Moab grip made from Kraton rubber. From that lonely first grip we now have 14 styles of grips in 14 unique color offering. From Lock On grips to Dual Compound grips to the new single compound Elastomer grips we have a grip style for every type of bike and rider preference.

2006-2007 saw a complete redesign of our protective gear and glove lines. Our shin guards had been an industry leader for quality and protection for a decade. But as new technology presented itself we found ourselves creating an entire new line of protective gear from the ground up called Softcell. This new line includes knee/shin combos, shin guards, knee guards, and 2 styles of elbow guards.

When I look back almost 10 years ago to our first glove offering I have to laugh. We had no idea how intense and fast moving the glove market was. (Maybe that was a good thing) Our latest offerings of gloves have received input from some of the best teams and riders around the world. We are proud to offer a complete line of high quality gloves that cover multiple seasons and price points that are second to none.

After 15 years new opportunities still present themselves. This year was no different. Kranked 6 our most recent DVD project produced by Bjorn Enga was accepted to the X-Dance extreme film competition. Only 35 films world wide from every extreme sport imaginable are invited to this competition held in Park City, Utah during the Sundance Film Festival. Despite the cold it was fun to be involved in such an exclusive event.

We have seen much of the world and made some good friends along the bicycle highway over the last 15 years. We are committed to the core bicycle enthusiast. Our driving factor each day is to make product that protects the rider and the bike while making the ride more enjoyable.
