Our expertise in bat grip helped us foresee that players wanted different options to customize the feel and thickness of their bat handle. Unfortunately, bat manufacturers and aftermarket grips had never specified the grip size. As a result, Lizard Skins created the thickness category. DSP Bat Grip was originally released in two different thicknesses - 1.8 mm to match average industry sizes and 1.1 mm to provide a new thinner option. After further testing, a key group of MLB players requested an even thinner grip that would provide all the same gripping properties but not increase the handle thickness. The 0.5 mm thickness was created to meet the high-performance demands of the world's most competitive athletes. All three thicknesses continue to be popular today for different preferences and skill levels.

Your grip is the foundation of your swing, and selecting the right grip thickness can significantly impact your golf game. When it comes to grip thickness or sizing in golf, there are several sizes to choose from, each offering unique benefits and catering to different preferences. From the traditional feel of a standard grip to the enhanced control provided by an oversized grip, finding the perfect fit is essential for maximizing your performance on the course.
To determine your ideal grip size, measure your hand from the tip of your middle finger to the bottom of your palm, using a tape measure for accuracy. Our swing grips are available in 3 different thickness options for a custom fit.
If you find yourself between two sizes, opting for the smaller size and adding extra layers of tape underneath can customize the thickness without requiring you to size up. Many professional golfers utilize this technique to fine-tune their grip, sometimes even adding tape to the head of the grip to create a taper, reducing tension during the swing. Personal preference also plays a role in grip selection. Many golfers find that using a slightly larger grip allows them to apply less pressure, enhancing their performance by promoting a more relaxed grip and smoother swing.
Finding the right putter grip is crucial, depending on personal preference, skill level, and hand size. Our putter grips are available in 2 different thickness options for a tuned fit, with lengths varying based on the model.
Our standard length DSP Hockey Grip Tape is the perfect amount of coverage to stylize and add performance where your top hand is positioned on stick. If you want your bottom hand to be more free to slide on the stick then this a great option.
Our extended length adapts to your personal preferences. More coverage means more style. Also, it gives your top hand a wider point of reference on the stick due to the larger surface area and enough coverage for those moments when both hands may be on the grip.
